halfwave is a video-editing app operated by Connected Media Inc. This policy explains the information used to provide account access, editing and subscriptions. Questions: jpgordon00@gmail.com.

Information used by halfwave

Your email address and account identifier are used for sign-in and account management through Supabase.
Videos and overlay images you choose to upload, their audio, captions and edited outputs are processed and stored by the halfwave editing service. Local drafts stay on your device until you upload them.
Subscription status, product identifiers and transaction information are handled through Apple or Google and RevenueCat to verify access. halfwave does not receive your full payment-card number.
Editing status, timestamps, model usage and estimated processing costs help operate the service and enforce usage limits.
If you enable notifications, a device push token is used to send completion notices through Expo and the platform notification service.

Optional cloud AI

Automatic AI editing or transcription sends the selected clip’s audio, or a supplied transcript, to the provider named in the confirmation (Google Gemini or Groq) after you choose that operation and consent in the app. A provider change requires renewed confirmation. Basic local-server editing and manually entered captions do not require cloud AI. Avoid submitting confidential or sensitive material to an AI operation. Provider handling is subject to Google’s Gemini API terms or Groq’s privacy policy, depending on the provider you select.

Sharing and tracking

Service providers receive only the data needed for their functions described above. halfwave does not sell your personal information. Optional Meta and TikTok advertising measurement is off by default. If enabled for this app and you opt in, their mobile SDKs may receive install and app-usage events, app and device information (such as operating-system version and device identifiers), and an advertising identifier when the platform permits it. On iOS, measurement also requires your tracking permission. Your uploaded videos, audio, captions and overlay images are not sent to these advertising services. You can turn measurement off in the app’s account settings and manage tracking permission in iOS Settings. These providers handle measurement data under Meta’s Privacy Policy and TikTok’s Privacy Policy. Exporting or sharing a video through another app is your choice and is governed by that destination’s policies.

Optional website advertising measurement

On halfwave.ai, Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel are off until you choose Allow measurement. If you opt in, these services receive page visits and clicks on our early-access email links, along with browser information such as your IP address, device/browser details, page URL, referring page and advertising cookies or identifiers. This helps measure advertising performance. An email-link click does not tell us that you sent an email, subscribed, started a trial or made a purchase. We do not send email addresses, uploaded videos, audio or captions through these website pixels, and automatic advanced matching is disabled.

You can decline optional measurement or change your choice at any time using Privacy choices in the website footer. Withdrawing permission stops subsequent measurement on this site; it does not retract events already sent. We honor the browser’s Global Privacy Control signal. Your measurement choice is saved in your browser for up to 180 days. Essential website hosting may process ordinary server access logs independently of these optional pixels. Meta and TikTok process data under their policies linked above.

Retention and deletion

Uploaded media for completed, failed or cancelled edits is normally deleted after 7 days; media needed by a pending scheduled batch is retained until that work finishes. Save exports you want to keep. You can delete individual finished cuts from your library. Basic job and accounting records remain until account deletion. In the app, open your account, choose Delete account and confirm. Access is blocked as soon as the server accepts your request. Media, account-linked edit records, push registrations and provider account records are then queued for deletion; provider failures are retried. A hashed identifier is retained to prevent old access links from reopening a deleted account. Anonymous processing totals may be retained for cost accounting and abuse prevention.

Deleting an account does not cancel a store subscription. Cancel renewals separately in your Apple or Google account settings. Files you exported elsewhere are not removed. Copies on other devices and any legally required store transaction records are outside the app’s deletion process. Contact support if a deletion appears unfinished or you cannot access your account.

Security and your choices

Production connections use HTTPS, and account checks restrict access to your media. No system is perfectly secure. You can decline optional camera, microphone and notification permissions, decline cloud AI, manage subscriptions through the store, or contact us to request access to or correction of your information.

This page will be updated when practices change. Material new uses of data require updated disclosures and consent where applicable.
